Books I've read

'The Face in the Frost' by John Bellairs, June, 2023. Gift from a friend. Classic wizard story! I LOVE WIZARDS!!!!

'The Broom of the System' by David Foster Wallace, May, 2023. Interesting to see the glimmers of Infinite Jest in this book but at the end of the day DFW doesnt have the experience to really nail the story down.

'My Life in France' by Julia Child with Alex Prud'homme, Apr, 2023. Sad to think that this world no longer exists. All of culture is doomed to die in a tourist gift shop.

'Death Of A Salesman' by Arthur Miller, Mar, 2023. This is why I don't want to go into 'business'. I do not want my income to depend on my ability to 'be liked.' Frankly I dont have that kind of charisma. People obsessed with the grindset culture should read this. Within a few decades they will be sad and broken, chewed up by the system they wanted to beat. It's not a game you can win. 'Finish your work and leave. Thats heavens way. -From the Tao Te Ching"

'FIRST AID' by The American National Red Crosss, Mar, 2023. Picture a version of this but with looney tunes injuries. "What to do when a piano has fallen on the victim and their teeth have become piano keys that play ragtime tunes"

'Waiting For Godot' by Samuel Beckett, Feb, 2023. Silly and non-uplifting story of two guys hanging out. Imagined them as the three stooges

'Mr Boston Bartender's Guide' Feb, 2023. Recipe book for cocktails I read cover-to-cover. Some information on wine, beer, and spirits too! Did you know Gin was a Dutch invention originally marketed as a medicine?

'The Metamorphosis, in the Penal Colony, and Other Stories' by Franz Kafka, Jan, 2023. Read this because my brother is studying abroad in Prague right now. Kafka is a funny guy! Loved The Penal Colony!

'Programmed to Kill: The Politics of Serial Murder' by David McGowan, Dec, 2022. McGowan stretches sometimes but raises interesting questions. At the very least, a testament to how incompetent and lazy police can be. At the most, a peek behind the curtain at government mind control programs.

'Reheated Cabbage' by Irvine Welsh, Dec, 2022. At times overly edgy, but has some very funny and charming bits

'Siddhartha' by Herman Hesse, Dec, 2022. LOVE IS THE HOLY TRUTH!

'Ham on Rye' by Charles Bukowski, Oct, 2022. Immensely satisfying writing style. Ripped through it. Very depressing.

'Naked Lunch' by William S Burroughs, Aug, 2022. The parts not about dudes killing the guys they're actively having gay sex with are mostly incomprehensible

'The Rum Diary' by Hunter S. Thompson, Aug, 2022. Apparently Johnny Depp found this draft in Thompson's house and persuaded him to publish it. Pretty interesting. Makes me want to drink rum more.

'Trout Fishing in America/The Pill Versus the Springhill Mine Disaster/In Watermelon Sugar' by Richard Brautigan, July, 2022. Probably my new favorite poet.

'On the Road' by Jack Kerouac, July, 2022. Makes me want to hitchhike out to the west. Builds up a lot but doesnt have the release that a normal narrative would have. Autobiographical tone is cool.

'Fear and Loathing at Rolling Stone' July 10th, 2022. Hunter S. Thompson is a fantastic writer. The editor underplays how much Jann (co-founder of rolling stone) screwed Hunter over though. He was left stranded in Saigon right before it collapsed! Finished this book camping in Montana

'Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance' by Robert M. Pirsig, June 10th, 2022. Honestly didn't click with it. Still don't understand what "Quality" is.

'High Rise' by J.G. Ballard, May 25th, 2022. Lots of connections between this book and Ballard's other well-known work 'Crash.' I loved the descent into chaos and the ambiguity of where the high rise is headed at the end. Made me want to re-watch the fantastic film adaptation

'Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas' by Hunter S. Thomson, May 21st, 2022. Thoughtful book on how cool it is to do do drugs in Las Vegas (at least thats what I got from it)

'Oh, God' by Avery Corman, May 14th, 2022. Silly little book I got for my birthday :)

'Communion' by Whitley Strieber, April 27th, 2022. Bought this book because I saw a photoshopped image of a person reading it being tazed by the deep state. Finished it today. Pretty spooky at times! Love the alien on the cover :)

Infinite Jest by David Foster Wallace, April 4th, 2022. One of the most rewarding reads I've ever had. Very funny.
